Donald R. Hermansen, D.D.S
Dr. Hermansen began his higher education by gaining a Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences at California Lutheran College (now University). He then continued towards his doctorate by graduating from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 1973. He has since become a member of the ADA and received the following certifications and awards:
- California Dental Association – Certificate of Appreciation for volunteering on the CDA Council on Peer Review (2010 – 2016)
- San Mateo County Dental Society — Board of Directors’ Award
Since 1976, Dr. Hermansen has been providing quality dental care in Redwood City, California. Although he does believe in the value of his work, he also seeks to continually improve his skill set to provide the best service possible for his patients. Dr. Hermansen prioritizes his continuing education as he attends classes (usually monthly) on a variety of subjects. This is well above the mandatory amount, thus enabling Dr. Hermansen to provide advanced care to his patients.
Dr. Hermansen has volunteered in a number of ways over the years. This includes participating in school screenings, health fairs, and career day presentations, providing free dental care through local and state-wide organized programs, serving as a dental society board member and committee chair, serving as a dental alumni association board member and past president, participating in CDA Cares, and serving for six years on the CDA Council on Peer Review.
His goal as a dentist is to help patients understand their own oral health and allow them to be their own best advocate in maintaining their oral health. This way, he can help their teeth last a lifetime.
Dr. Hermansen has been married since 1975 to Holly, who is a registered dental hygienist. They have two daughters and two sons, and they enjoy the company of their six grandchildren. His hobbies outside of the office include gardening and reading.
